Conference Producer

Do you have a tenacious and enthusiastic approach to work? Do you want to provide key industry with business to business information through the form of conferences. Then read on

Department: Production

Salary: Dependent on Experience

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • To provide key industry sectors with business to business information through the forum of conferences
  • To develop a breadth of understanding within a specific industry of strategic and commercial issues
  • To Initiate and develop ideas into two day revenue generating events with the added value of issue specific workshops
  • To pass leads/ideas to Telesales, Marketing, Sponsorship and other Producers within your team
  • To travel overseas for specific conferences
  • To establish and maintain relationships with key industry personnel via meetings, lunches and drinks receptions
  • To promote key industry issues across all sectors

KEY TASKS
  • To research, write and produce a minimum of 10 business conferences per annum
  • To project manage your event, working to the specifications outlined in the conference brief within 22 days
  • To produce a workshop in association with each conference, detailing a subject introduced in the main event
  • To arrange and hold at least two meetings with industry personnel per event
  • To secure 16 speakers and 2 chairs with written confirmation by the end of the production cycle
  • To ensure deadlines are met and production targets achieved and exceeded
  • To keep the Content Manager fully informed and aware of the progress of each conference
  • To liase with Sponsorship, Marketing and Telesales to maximise event potential, passing on leads for commercial activities
  • To oversee all marketing material relevant to your conferences, advising on content and suggesting associations, societies and journals suitable for external marketing activity
  • To conduct a mid-production marketing de-brief to provide awareness of any developments discovered since the initial research brief
  • To complete all aspects of conference administration (confirmation faxes, expense forms, guest place forms and handovers) accurately and on time
  • To ensure the conference information is displayed on the website and that the material is correct and up to date
  • To contribute to the growth of our in-house database
  • To attend and open conferences
  • To network with speakers and delegates to generate new conference ideas, receive event feedback and secure future speakers

KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • A commercial outlook on industry
  • The ability to assimilate information quickly and effectively
  • A tenacious and enthusiastic approach to work
  • Excellent time management skills and a "can do" attitude to work
  • Excellent one to one communication skills with the ability to work with senior ranking directors and public sector officials
  • The ability to project manage and work effectively within a team environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access and Outlook

Senior Marketing Executive

Targets

  • To devise and run at least 4 marketing campaigns per month keeping to deadlines set

  • To increase average number of delegates in your sector by a minimum of 5% year on year
  • To produce effective marketing plans within budget
  • Negotiating rate card costs to obtain best possible prices for external activity
  • To achieve management sales targets

Sponsorship Executive

Department: Sponsorship

Salary: Dependent on Experience

  • Research and develop a brief sales strategy for each conference within specified sector
  • Present professional proposals and contracts to clients for sponsorship opportunities that are in keeping with the nature of the conference and SMi’s business
  • Attend any conference that sponsorship has been sold on to meet with clients and ensure that customer service level is kept at the highest level
  • Encourage long term relationships with clients to assist generation of repeat business

Telesales Executive

Are you dynamic, ambitious and motivated with a strong interest in sales to work as part of a team selling across the range of SMi products. Then read on

Department: Telesales

Salary: Dependent on Experience

  • Sell across the range of SMi products including Conferences and Publishing to high level decision makers from different industry sectors
  • Maintain a minimum number of quality telephone calls per day
  • Call backs to be recorded in Excel and actioned where the client has requested
  • Record accurate client history
  • Work to deadlines as set by the Sales Director
  • Ensure a full conference brief is obtained from the conference producer concerning the subject matter of the conference
  • Ensure a good working knowledge of the Publishing products
